Dogs have always been a huge part of my life. I grew up with Border Collies and was actively involved in walking and caring for them, before spending many years walking and looking after family Labradors. These experiences helped develop my lifelong love of dogs, animal welfare and the outdoors. In 2023, I began dog sitting and walking through Rover alongside my full-time role in the care sector. Since then, I have cared for a wide range of breeds, sizes and personalities, from smaller companion dogs such as Dachshunds, Cockapoos and Bichon Frisés to larger breeds including Weimaraners, Boxers and Labradors. 

My partner and I adopted our beautiful German Shepherd, Blue, from Clymping Dog Sanctuary. As Blue is a reactive dog, I understand first-hand the patience, understanding and consistency that some dogs need. This experience has strengthened my knowledge of canine body language and helped me develop confidence in managing walks safely and positively.

My passion for dogs, walking and animal welfare inspired me to take the exciting step of creating Lydia’s Leads. My aim is to provide a reliable, friendly and professional service, giving owners complete peace of mind while ensuring their dogs enjoy safe, enriching and fun walks.
