1. About Lydia’s Leads

Thank you for choosing Lydia’s Leads.

These Terms & Conditions explain how my dog walking and pet care services operate. By making an enquiry, booking a service, or using this website, you agree to these terms.

2. Services

Lydia’s Leads provides dog walking and related pet care services.

All services are subject to availability and suitability assessments where required.

Before services begin, I may arrange a meet and greet to ensure that my services are suitable for your dog and to help maintain the safety and wellbeing of your dog, other animals, members of the public, and myself.

3. Owner Responsibilities

By booking services, you confirm that:

  • You are the legal owner or authorised keeper of the dog.
  • The information provided about your dog is accurate and up to date.
  • You will inform me of any changes to your dog’s health, behaviour or circumstances.
  • Your dog is microchipped in accordance with UK legislation.
  • Your dog wears a collar and identification tag where required by law.
  • Any history of aggression, biting, reactivity or behavioural concerns has been fully disclosed.

Failure to provide accurate information may result in services being refused or terminated.

4. Safety & Welfare

Your dog’s safety and welfare will always be my highest priority.

To help keep everyone safe, I reserve the right to:

  • Keep a dog on a lead where I believe this is necessary for safety.
  • Change or shorten walk routes, locations or durations due to weather conditions, health concerns or welfare needs.
  • Refuse or end services where a dog presents an unacceptable risk to people, animals or property.

5. Veterinary Emergencies

In the event that your dog becomes ill, injured or requires urgent veterinary attention while in my care, I will make every reasonable effort to contact you and your emergency contact.

If I am unable to reach you and veterinary treatment is considered necessary, I may seek treatment on your behalf.

You remain responsible for any veterinary fees, treatment costs or related expenses incurred.

6. Transport

Dogs may be transported in a vehicle for walks, emergency situations, or pre-arranged collection and drop-off services.

Where transport is required, dogs will be secured appropriately using suitable safety equipment such as a dog guard, carrier or vehicle restraint.

7. Cancellations

Please refer to the separate Cancellation Policy for full details.

Owner Cancellations

  • More than 24 hours’ notice: No charge.
  • Less than 24 hours’ notice: 50% of the booked service fee.
  • Same-day cancellation or inability to access the dog: 100% of the service fee.

If I need to cancel due to illness, severe weather, vehicle issues or other unforeseen circumstances, I will provide as much notice as possible and no fee will be charged.

8. Payments

Payment arrangements will be agreed before services commence.

I reserve the right to suspend future bookings where payments remain outstanding.

9. Liability

Whilst I take every reasonable care and precaution when providing services, I cannot accept responsibility for:

  • Undisclosed medical conditions.
  • Undisclosed behavioural issues.
  • Inaccurate or incomplete information provided by the owner.
  • Circumstances beyond my reasonable control.
  • Injury, illness, loss or death occurring despite reasonable care being exercised.

Nothing within these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation would be unlawful.

10. Photography

I may take photographs or videos of dogs during walks or visits.

Photographs or videos will only be used on social media, my website, advertising or promotional materials where the owner’s consent has been obtained.

Consent may be withdrawn at any time.

11. Website Content

All photographs, text, branding, logos and content displayed on this website remain the property of Lydia’s Leads unless otherwise stated.

Content may not be copied, reproduced, distributed or used without prior written permission.

12. Privacy

Any personal information collected through enquiries, bookings or contact forms will be handled in accordance with the Lydia’s Leads Privacy Policy and applicable UK data protection legislation.

13. Changes to These Terms

I may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.

Any changes will be published on this website, and continued use of my services will constitute acceptance of any updated terms.
